OMG!! I loved this book! It's the sequel to "Not a Drop to Drink", which I also read but don't remember much about it since I read so many books, but it's not necessary to have read the first book to enjoy this one. I approached it as if I had not read the first book.I love dystopian literature and am very picky about details and realistic events. This book, in my humble opinion, was true to real life situations (and those that could possibly happen in the future who knows?) and starts off instantly grabbing the reader into the current situation - a polio epidemic. Any number of diseases could have been used, but polio is an especially debilitating disease even if one survives it. A polio carrier (the source) is found and from that point on the story continues to grow and evolve into a very exciting series of events.
I totally appreciated the vivid descriptions and well-developed characters. Poor character development is one of my pet peeves, but I felt I personally knew these people. Great book!!!

In a Handful of Dust Mindy McGinnis Books Reviews
My first thought after reading this book also so so so so good.
This book very clearly defined the hard choices to make in a post apocalyptic world! No glossing over the conditions were made here!
A very good read!
Great book. Make sure to order the first book. It's called "Not a Drop to Drink.
AWESOME BOOK!
Realistic story...I can see our world like this and it's scary. Good characters and writing.
I enjoyed book 1 very much, but book 2 wasn't as good. Maybe it was because it was 10 years into the future , or maybe not enough action. No clue.
A superb follow on from "Not a drop to drink". Great character development and the plot kept interest piqued and was full of tension, pace and excitement. Enjoyed the end was awesome yet definitely left space for book 3! Can't wait!
The author does a great job of taking you on a journey with the characters and keeping the fires of suspense stoked! The character of Lynn is a bit gun happy and some of the plot twists ask the reader to suspend disbelief too much....I thought Not a Drop To Drink was more plausible and well thought out. However the characters, situations and adventure still make it a good read. I'm really looking forward to Mindy's next book!
